The statement below was issued in 2002 but there have been many developments in international relations since! Not least the Iraq War.
The premise of the US-UK action was that it was necessary to invade Iraq to neutralise a supposed threat from Saddam Hussein as posed by his alleged weapons of mass destruction. These weapons have not been found and Mr Blair has been shown as either a fool or a knave in the matter, either believing his own and Mr Bush's propaganda, or actually inventing the whole story.

CANA (Christians Against Nato Aggression) was invented @ Highgate Magistrates Court London England May 1999.
I was asking the Stipendiary Magistrate for permission to prosecute Messers Clinton, Blair, Robertson, Cook, Axworthy, Vedrine, Fischer, Holbrooke, & Wesley Clark, (& also Mrs Madeleine Albright) under the 1861 Offences Against the Person Act.
A Stipendiary Magistrate is a Judge & paid, unlike lay Magistrates.
(Why I should have been forced to appear before a Stipendiary Magistrate, when I wanted the case heard by lay Magistrates, is another point).
I was following a procedure, known as "laying an Information."
(In England any member of the public can seek to initiate criminal proceedings, in cases where the Police &/or Director of Public Prosecutions refuse to act.)
I was trying to persuade the Magistrate a prima facie case existed, for the NATO leaders, those responsible for launching aggressive war against Yugoslavia, to be summoned to appear @ Court.
Specifically I indicted them as parties in "a conspiracy to cause explosions and to murder people in the Federal Republic of Yugoslavia" contrary to the 1861 Offences Against the Person Act.
In addition I sought separate summonses against Blair, Cook & Robertson, for violations of the 1998 Criminal Justice Act, Section Five, (which prohibits UK residents from forwarding the aims of terrorist movements operating within the borders of any other sovereign state).
I said Her Majesty's Government (HMG), by collaborating with the KLA, (the Kosovo Liberation Army - an armed group seeking the secession from Yugoslavia of the Serbian province of Kosovo-Metohija), were contravening their own legislation.
The Magistrate declined to issue the summonses, citing "insufficient evidence".
In this conclusion he was probably influenced by the presence in Court, during a supposedly 'in camera' (closed) hearing, of a mysterious young woman.
She came into the Court, through the same door as the Magistrate, yet I observed she was evidently not Court staff. Foreign Office? Perhaps.
But facing the Magistrate, (who was a typical British judge, & thus impervious to reason), & with this mysterious young woman sitting behind me, any residual faith I still had in the very concept of the independence of the judiciary - it all dissolved.

Irrespective of whether she was from the Foreign Office or not, or MI6, I guess there would have been foreign policy implications, had any of these summonses been issued.
One of the cases I referred to in my list of charges related to the Chinese Embassy bombing, & I gave various other examples, including the TV station, in Belgrade, (outside the ruins of which I stood in silent tribute, in March 2001).
Part of my discussion with the Magistrate dealt with the anomalous position of American citizens, such as Richard Holbrooke & Madeleine Albright.
The judge doubted whether they were within the jurisdiction.
I said they clearly weren't, but the summonses could always be served on them should they ever visit London.
(The judge conceded this point. After all the 1861 Act is pretty broad).
On the evidential point I said there was ample evidence of a conspiracy by the accused to engage in war crimes & to promote aggressive war (which is the ' supreme war crime' according to the Nuremberg prosecutors ) against the Serbian people.
This evidence continually increases, as more & more documentation becomes available.
I told the Magistrate I would call Robert Fisk as a witness.
He was in Belgrade when the television station was bombed.
I'd last seen him in Riyadh in 1991. We both worked on a story for The Independent. This was to do with the bombing by the Americans of a civilian air raid shelter in Baghdad.
(His last words to me then were, "see you in the war", but the war finished the next day, & I haven't seen him since. I am however trying to persuade Robert Fisk to come & speak @ our next CANA UK Conference, scheduled for November. But this depends on him being in England, which he probably won't be).
In Court I was asked whom I represented. I replied I was acting as a private individual, but also on behalf of "Christians Against Nato Aggression", an organisation up to that point non-existent. And that was the formation of CANA.
Shortly afterwards I met Bruce Kent. He told me there was another CANA, "Clergy Against Nuclear Arms". So we now call ourselves CANA UK, to distinguish ourselves from the other CANA.
CANA UK has no formal membership, as of now, July 2002.
Despite the name we are not limited to Christian support.
Of course we welcome support from professing Christians, from whatever tradition, but in this context "Christian" does not mean a doctrinal belief system. It relates more to our world view on foreign policy issues, as defined by an ancient Judaeo-Christian ethic, summed up in the words "love your neighbour as yourself".
Loving your neighbour means you don't drop bombs on them, at least not when they haven't dropped bombs on you.
In 1999 the Yugoslavs had neither attacked the UK, nor any of its allies, nor any neighbouring state.
The Yugoslavs were allies to the UK in World War 2. They were founder members of the United Nations, & (under Tito) the leaders, with India & Indonesia, of the Non-Aligned Movement.
They believed in The Third Way.
The 'old' Yugoslav Federation came apart in violent conflict, & until the bombing started, in 1999 I knew nothing very much about the causes of that conflict, but naively supposed the Dayton Peace Accords had settled the problem.
All the Dayton Peace Accords actually did was formalise the partition of the old Yugoslavia, into various NATO spheres of influence. But NATO & the US were not satisfied. They couldn't just leave the Serbs alone. They wanted more of the cake.
So I went on a steep learning curve. I found out how funded by the Albanian narco-jihad mafia, apologists for Albanian terorism such as Robert Dole, had busied themselves on Capitol Hill creating a base for political support, & had succeeded in extracting a commitment from the Clinton administration to intervene in Kosovo.
To this end NATO created & funded a surrogate terrorist army, the KLA, SAS trained, who set about their murderous work, of killing Albanians, as well as Serbs.
A massacre was concocted, the so called massacre at Racak. This was in February 1999.
A CIA agent, William Walker, by profession a war manufacturer, who enjoyed diplomatic cover as head of the OSCE team of monitors, (& who in the 1980's had 'run' the contras in Central America) had the job of setting it up.
Later in talks @ Rambouillet, Albright, instead of seeking a solution, presented to the Serbs a non negotiable demand, which was that the Americans & its allies should occupy not merely Kosovo, but the entire territory of the (new) Federal Republic of Yugoslavia.
This demand was set out in Appendix Two of the now notorious Rambouillet document.
No sovereign state should have to accept such a demand, although Haiti did, but Yugoslavia didn't.
Anyway, after the 'success' of the NATO war & the elevation of Zoran Djindjic to power in Serbia, some months later Mr Milosevic was illegally handed over to the International Criminal Tribunal for the Former Yugoslavia (ICTFY).
On the instructions of Geoff Hoon, UK Defence chief, the RAF assisted in this kidnap, which proves if you let criminals off, as the Magistrate @ Highgate did that morning in May 1999, they then go & commit other crimes, & abduction & kidnapping is a serious crime, although the ICTFY doesn't appear to think so, having refused to rule on the circumstances of Mr Milosevic's transfer to The Netherlands, ( & the Netherlands Government says it's none of their business).
CANA's original focus was Yugoslavia, which focus we retain.
But the 1999 war was also an excursion into "regime change."
In 1999 NATO, originally established as a defensive organisation, reformulated its treaty.
NATO's new strategic concept allows intervention, (i.e. the launching of aggressive war), in more or less any situation.
So we come to September 11th.
Following September 11th, regime change was effected in Afghanistan, & is now also to be implemented in Palestine, according to Mr Bush, & later on this year, or in 2003, in Iraq.
CANA UK analyses these various foreign policy issues, seeking to interpret such phenomena from a traditional Christian perspective - which is altogether removed from post modernism.
CANA UK organises conferences & seminars on international relations + a programme of press releases, statements & pamphlets, in the context of an ongoing programme of contemporary historical research.
As time has gone on the NATO component has diminished somewhat.
Manifestly the rogue state is the US, with or without allies.
But we keep our original name, as NATO remains an occupation army & supporter of terrorism, in Kosovo, Bosnia, & Macedonia.
Bosnia provides the Tusla airforce base, a Diego Garcia in Europe, from which the USAF can bomb other countries at will.
Macedonia is now partitioned by NATO - in line with NATO's policy of encouraging a Greater Albania.
And in Kosovo the US has constructed "Camp Bondsteel" - which is another massive military installation.
In Kosovo post June 1999 NATO ignored its UN mandate to protect all sections of the population, & instead presided over the genocide & expulsion of Serbs, Roma, Jews & Egyptians + anti fascist Albanians from the province, & associated with this pogrom is cultural vandalism on a massive scale.
Over 100 churches in Kosovo, (some of them medieval, & containing unique artistic treasures), have been desecrated or destroyed by NATO's surrogates.
The same process has gone on in Macedonia.
Had these atrocities been carried out by The Taliban, we'd never have heard the end of it!
Instead a media black out @ the BBC & CNN & Sky prevents the UK public from knowing what has been done in our name.
British politicians remain in denial - & our public credit, as a peaceful nation, upholding international law, is destroyed.
CANA UK continues to speak out against all such aggression.
Aggression doesn't become right by being successful.
The failure of the Magistrate, three years ago, to issue the summonses I sought, continues to worry me. These wretched politicians, who manipulate the media, & evade the Courts, are still there! They have no sense of shame, & appear on tv, walk in & out of bars, make speeches, have tea & scones @ village halls, (some might even go to church), but all the time they are in fact vicious criminals!
In UK law there is no time limit for the prosecution of war crimes - or any crime.
The murderous events of the NATO war are becoming remote in memory but their indelible stain can never be erased.
In the House of Commons Mr Blair defended the bombing of the Belgrade television station.
Those were dreadful words & might even serve as his epitaph, inscribed on his tomb, with this addition - "here lies a mediocre & immoral political leader, representative of the pornocracy of New Labour, as produced by the England of the 1990's."

In CANA we remember all of NATO's victims, including those incinerated on a passenger train @ the Grdelica Gorge, Easter Sunday April 12th 1999.
In that number were young newly weds, Ana Markovic & her husband, Ivan, evangelical Christians, on a trip to see relatives.
"They that be wise shall shine as the brightness of the firmament and they that turn many to righteousness as the stars for ever and ever."
One object of CANA UK is to raise funds to create a memorial here in London to those killed by the RAF & USAF in Yugoslavia, & also to the victims of the violence in Kosovo which has followed on from the NATO occupation.
My suggestion to London Mayor Ken Livingstone is that this memorial be erected on the empty plinth inTrafalgar Square.
Of course in Serbia Zoran Djindjic wants to move on, & so does Mr Blair. History is embarrassing for them both.
But there must be an indelible record made of the evil of this Government.
CANA UK seeks to create such a file.
I opened a similar file years ago, on Zimbabwe, & everything I wrote then about Mugabe was true & has become even more true.

I do not confuse Mr Milosevic with Mr Mugabe.
Mr Milosevic is thoroughly defensible. Mr Mugabe is not.
(Another 'victim file' I collated around that time related to Saudi Arabia. This document was published by Amnesty, but as I was in Saudi Arabia @ the time my contribution was anonymous).
It is significant how this Government does nothing about Zimbabwe's ethnic cleansing of British nationals or of their descendants, nor about Saudi Arabia, the original viper's nest of the Al Quaeda.
Instead we hunt out ethnic cleansing everywhere else, or kill Afghan villagers, or starve them to death, in revenge for September 11th - & we prepare to bomb Iraq, (incidentally a pluralist state, not controlled by Islamic extremists, unlike Saudi Arabia).
It gives me no satisfaction to be proved right.
The Blair regime will never understand Mr Milosevic, because Mr Milosevic has stood up for his own people, & that concept is anathema to Mr Blair.
We are sinking ever deeper into a new age/beads & sandles barbarism.
Those who don't believe in God, don't believe in nothing, but in anything.
As for the Americans they have another year, to kill, to maim, to rape, to bomb wedding parties & incinerate innocent people, knowing they will not be brought before a war crimes Court.
But all the rest of us have to behave.
This concerns those who worry about two standards in international justice.
But there were always two standards, one for the Imperial Power & another for the subjects.
No wonder the centurion got worried when Paul said: civis romanus sum.
And in fact I am not in favour of Americans, or indeed anyone, being brought before so called international Courts.
International Courts, @ least those of recent creation, stink - look @ the ICTFY, look @ Camp Zeist, & Arusha. What a mess.
These tribunals have forever discredited "international justice", being mere adjuncts, functions, of an irresponsible unaccountable globalist power elite, political Courts conducting political show trials, & primed to deliver political verdicts, which is why I personally favour the Helms Bill, (this has apparently passed Congress).
Jesse Helms wants US special forces to "spring" from gaol any Americans detained by the new International Criminal Court.
I favour the Helms option, & also favour - & believe the Russians should have done this a long time ago, - the idea of Russian special forces attacking The Hague to release Mr Milosevic, (of course seeking to minimise civilian casualties - but if there is "collateral damage" to a few prosecutors & judges, I don't think I'd mourn excessively - )
I repeat, in my view, (& this may not be the view of everyone on the CANA UK executive) there is nothing wrong with the American position in wanting immunity for their troops, except this: if that is what they want, then the Americans must forthwith release Mr Milosevic, otherwise we have a pretty flagrant instance of double standards.
(There is no problem about the immediate release of Milosevic. After all Mr Justice May is a British judge. As such he will always do what he is told. If the Lord Chancellor tells him it is necessary to release Milosevic, he will find a way).
My view is domestic tribunals should try war crimes cases.
International Courts should only be established where there is a jurisdictional vacuum, as existed in Germany immediately after World War 2.
Years ago I heard a powerful speech in the House of Commons by Mr Luard, MP for Oxford.
He said we need to reassert the principle of nonintervention in the affairs of other states.
World peace can never be secured while we tolerate in public life guilty men who repudiate the UN Charter.
The USA, with British support, is now scheduled to attack Iraq.
That way madness lies.
The British people have stood together before against fascism.
Blair & his gang are fascists. They shall not pass.
I appeal to the Leader of the Conservative Opposition.
The Conservative Party claims to be the party of law & order & in support of international law.
The Conservatives should vote, with the many Labour rebels, & against the Government's policy on Iraq.
If the Tories do this, actually oppose the Government, the Government will fall.
If Blair & Bush attack Iraq there must be a General Strike.
To the barricades, citizens!
Let's try & bring this Government down.
We can do it.
We need regime change, right here, in London.

The cause of human rights, like the cause of peace, as Litvinov observed, is indivisible.
The attack on Yugoslavia by NATO, the last military phase of which commenced almost three years ago ( & which as a minor & unintended consequence created CANA UK as a pressure group) was most of all an attack on human rights, and the most important right of all, the right to life.
This weekend throughout the world but particularly in Belgrade there will be ceremonies, rallies & commemorations for those who died as a result of Blair's First War.
There should also be church events, but there won't be, certainly not in England, where the people remain in denial as to the enormity of the war crimes committed by the British Government in Yugoslavia three years ago, because the media, & particularly the BBC choose not to tell the story of what really went on, & how Mr Blair & President Clinton provoked a war, when it could so easily have been avoided.
Religious leaders in England are indifferent to the loss of life in all the various military conflicts provoked by Blair, unless of course those killed happen to be British.
So in UK the task of ensuring a remembrance for the dead is left to secular non religious bodies, such as the British Serbian Alliance for Peace who are arranging a vigil & commemoration in Whitehall opposite Downing Street from approximately 2.45 pm on Sunday 24th March 2002, the 3rd anniversary of the beginning of the NATO bombing.
Since those days both Clinton & his arch miscreant associate, Madelaine Albright, have moved on to other things. Blair remains, ever extending his new British Empire, from Pristina to Freetown to Kabul & he hopes soon, to Baghdad.
In the war on terrorism the United Kingdom & the USA were for years creating, supporting, & training various subversive terrorist gangs in foreign lands, the same groups which the political leaders of the West now say they want to dismantle.
In fact there is no such agenda.
The West needs the Al Quaeda in order to create a permanent state of perceived threat to Israel, & the West protects the Al Quaeda conspiracy, located centrally in Saudi Arabia, an ally of the United States, where bin Laden is now probably relaxing behind the reclusive walls of an unapproachable Saudi villa.
Those who bombed in Afghanistan, & the targets of US & UK military deployment, have, generally speaking, nothing to do with the atrocity of September 11th 2001.
But the Taliban forces in Afghanistan remain intent, (in a war against overwhelmingly technically superior forces), on protecting their homeland from foreign invasion, in the tradition of Afghan warriors of times past, who have rejected other empires.
What is most disgraceful is the need by the US to bring in UK troops.
Only when the US starts taking casualties does the need for UK front line troops suddenly become imperative.
The British were called in as mercenaries for the Americans, & jumped to arms after the terrorist attack on New York, yet I failed to observe the same enthusiasm from the Americans for assisting the British when we were subject to terrorist attacks in Ulster & the mainland.
Indeed the para-militaries in Ulster obtained much of their funding from the USA & political support from the Clinton White House.
In Kosovo & Macedonia for years the Americans & British have been allied with Islamic terrorists.
Yet that was a good thing, as long as the Al Quaeda in Kosovo & Macedonia were killing Serbs, (& more recently Macedonians).
Al Quaeda only became a bad thing when the organisation started killing Americans.
The Chinese proverb is "those who ride a tiger find it difficult to get off".
America has sown the wind. It is now reaping the whirlwind.
In the next months we will see how this conflict develops. It seems the US administration wants to go on to attack Iraq.
In fact the war against Iraq has never stopped, with regular bombing two or three times a week by the USAF & RAF since the end of the Gulf War.
Also the sanctions regime has persisted, to keep Iraq out of the oil market.
Whatever Europe says will make no difference to the hawkish mentality of a US political elite who have tied US foreign policy in with the foreign policy of Israel & the economic interests of US oil companies.

The week of March 24th 2001 I was in Belgrade as a guest of the
Socialist Party of Serbia,
attending The Belgrade Forum, & representing CANA (Christians
Against Nato
Agression ) & Justice Yugoslavia (CJPY):
It was my first visit to Serbia, a country which I had no
connection with,
or interest in really, being absorbed in (as I thought) very
considerable
problems of my own. That was, until March 24th 1999: then
"all is changed,
changed utterly."
It was a great privilege to be with the people of Yugoslavia,
with patriotic
elements, with the unintimidated, & the bravest people in the
world & the
most civilised, & with those in mourning, women in black, who
gave of their
best to the struggle, & for their country, & who regret
nothing.

Two Years On: The Truth about NATO Aggression

Belgrade, Yugoslavia
On this second anniversary of the Washington-led NATO aggression
on Yugoslavia, we free people of the world have gathered here in
Belgrade, March 22-23, 2001, to honor the brave Yugoslav people
who defended freedom, dignity and universal human and social
values against NATO. We especially honor those who lost loved
ones, homes and property to that criminal aggression.
In waging an illegal and undeclared war of terror against
Yugoslavia, NATO threw all decency out the window.
* Over 50.000 rounds of bullets and missiles encased in depleted
uranium were fired or dropped on people whose only crime was that
they never kneeled in front of aggressors and occupiers in their
long history and always stood for dignity, freedom and equality.
* Over 80% of NATO's targets and victims of this aggression were
ordinary civilians and their homes, hospitals, schools, TV
stations, work places.
* After accepting the guarantee of the territorial integrity of
the FR Yugoslavia, as provided for in UN Resolution 1244, and
after agreeing in that Resolution to disarm and disband the
terrorist KLA, what did NATO do?
It
continued to train and support the terrorists, raising them to
official status as the "Kosovo Protection Corps".
NATO supported them as they drove 350,000 Serbs and other non-Albanians, and anti-fascist Albanians, from their ancestral homes in Kosovo and Metohija.
NATO turned a buffer zone between the Serbian province of Kosovo and Metohija and the rest of Serbia into a haven for the "KLA". Now they have unleashed these terrorists against districts in southern Serbia and whole of Macedonia.
After
committing themselves to respect and guarantee existing
international borders in the region, NATO has supported the
"KLA's" drive to break up countries and form a 'Greater
Albania.' This represents the greatest danger for peace and
stability in the region.
The NATO aggression enshrined gangsterism, drug trafficking and
terrorism as the new standards of law. This was in fact an attack
on the world.
In
heroically resisting NATO, the Serbian people defended not only
their own country, but the entire world from Imperial conquest.
They deserve recognition and solidarity from all peace-loving
people, all the more because the NATO aggressors are continuing
to use the same methods to break the Balkans into a series of
weak, gangster dominated protectorates.
There is a great danger confronting our world and also a great
hope. Since the fall of the Soviet Union, the Clinton
Administration, working with their like in England and Germany
has launched a drive to recolonize most of the world. This has involved attacks on
many fronts.
In
Yugoslavia and in many other countries Washington, London and
Berlin organized terrorist, separatists and racist movements and
armies financed by covert agencies and by organized crime, which
has made drugs the world's biggest business. In Kosovo and
Metohija Washington and Berlin organized the terrorist KLA, out
of drug dealers, bandits and racists.
While fostering terror and crime, the enlightened Western
Establishment also fosters so-called democratic civil society
groups, political parties and media as a Fifth Column to soften
up resistance within.
These
groups and media use psychological warfare techniques to destroy
the very possibility of reasoned political discourse, reducing
politics to the level of a lying advertising campaign.
The Western controlled media all over the world, and especially
in target countries, such as Yugoslavia, slander national and
social self-defense as fascist. This has been done for ten years
to the Serbs, whose crime is that they defended multiethnic
Yugoslavia and opposed foreign occupation.
And while proxy forces break up nations, such as the
strategically important Yugoslav federation, and then reduce the
component parts to mere protectorates, world economic
organizations such as the International Monetary Fund and the
World bank, controlled by Washington, pursue the same ends. The
IMF and World Bank calls for economic modernization.
This slogan is a lie - a reversal of reality.
In fact the IMF seizes national governments, destroys their currencies and takes over their central banks, as they have taken over the Yugoslav Central Bank. Then they bring in Western pirates, as they are now trying to do in Yugoslavia, who seize key financial and industrial sectors and strip them bare.
Meanwhile,
"structural reform" programs wipe out social
protections so that while prices and unemployment skyrocket,
working people don't even have a social safety net. The people
are reduced to misery and poverty.
So NATO bombs the Serbs and drives them and other non-Albanian
people from their historic home in Kosovo and Metohija. It
creates an ad hoc Tribunal, violating all international law, to
cover up its own crimes.
It
kidnaps Serbian leaders, illegally detains them and proclaims to
the world that they are guilty for NATO's killing of Serbs. Thus NATO leaders kill rational
thought as well.
Some leaders in Yugoslavia offer their services to NATO
governments, but there is no violation of national dignity, no
betrayal of ordinary people sufficient for the United States
Establishment.
NATO
has no friends - only future victims.
We demand:
1) NATO must leave the Serbian province of Kosovo and Metohija
and all of
the Balkans;
2) The guarantees of Yugoslav sovereignty and territorial
integrity included
in UN Resolution 1244 must be enforced;
3) The Yugoslav army and police must return to Kosovo and
Metohija and must
be allowed to take control of all Yugoslav borders including and
especially
the borders with Macedonia and Albania;
4) The terrorist KLA must be disarmed and disbanded and its
criminal leaders
put on trial;
5) The refugees and displaced persons driven from Kosovo must be
returned
freely and safely to their homes, farms and work places and
compensated by
the NATO governments for all damages committed by NATO and the
terrorist
KLA;
6)
Kosovo and Metohija must stay in Serbia. Elections must not be
held under
present conditions of terror, ethnic cleansing and occupation. A
return of
350.000 displaced Serbs and other non-Albanians is the condition
sine qua
non for multiethnic, multi-cultural and multi-religious Kosovo
and Metohija
as well as for free and democratic elections.
7) Leaders of NATO and the NATO governments, first of all former
President
Bill Clinton, Madeline Albright, Javier Solana, and the others
should be put
on trial for their crimes against peace and humanity . The NATO
governments
must compensate Yugoslavia and all the Balkans as well as all
individual
victims for war damages;
8)
The West must immediately pay for the clean up of all areas
contaminated
by their weapons of mass destruction including low level nuclear
waste from
depleted uranium, laced with plutonium, and the chemical poisons
released
due to NATO's bombing of refineries, chemical and other
factories. All the
victims of the use of such armaments must be compensated;
9) A smear campaign has been launched against Yugoslav political
leaders who
resisted NATO aggression. This campaign is accompanied by
politically
motivated arrests and politically imposed court procedures. The
fabricated
accusations against President Milosevic are an attempt to hide
the crimes of
NATO and to threaten anybody in the world who would stand for
freedom and
independence. Mr. Dragoljub Milanovic and Mr. Rade Markovic must
be freed
from their illegal, political detention.
10) The public lynching of political opponents as well as the
harassment,
intimidation, beating and arbitraryfiring of managers and
professionals in
factories, hospitals, schools, public administration - must cease
forthwith.
These are notorious violations of human rights;
11) The Hague Tribunal, a political institution created to
demonize the Serbs
and to justify NATO crimes, must be closed down forever. Its
victims and
their surviving relatives must be compensated for illegal arrest,
imprisonment and death.
We call on all freedom loving people of various political views
and of all
races, religions and ethnic origins - let us unite. Let us defend
the truth
against media lies. Let us defend the right of all countries,
particularly
small and "underdeveloped" countries, to equality. Let
us defend the right
of ordinary people all over the world to live a decent and secure
life.
And let us rally to support those who have resisted NATO's
attempt to
recolonize our world. Defend the Serbian people who have stood up
to NATO.
We honor all the victims of NATO's aggression against Yugoslavia.
It must
not be repeated anywhere ever again.

2. Demand the abolition of the illegal ICTFY. Defend the former

the Federal Republic of Yugoslavia Mr. Slobodan Milosevic as well
as Mr.
Dragoljub Milanovic, former Director General of RTS, and all
victims of
political oppression.
3. Raise the issue of the responsibility of Carla Del Ponte,
Michael Jackson,
Bernard Kouchner and others for consolidating of the Albanian
terrorist
groups
4. Insist on NATO-member countries paying compensation for the
damages done
during the aggression.

The 2nd CANA One Day Conference was held in association with
Justice Yugoslavia (CJPY Campaign for Justice for the Peoples of
Yugoslavia) @ Friends House Euston Rd London on Saturday 24th
February 2001.
A
DAY OF TRUTH ON YUGOSLAVIA
The old NATO treaty was scrapped in 1999. NATO has no longer any credible claim to be a purely defensive organisation operating within the limitations of the UN Charter: the new agreement authorises it to carry out military action anywhere in the world without reference to the UN and to use nuclear weapons against non-nuclear states. The bombing of Yugoslavia demonstrated how a newly assertive NATO was to be feared. If thwarted it would bomb, occupy, and control. East of the Balkans countries have recoiled, regrouped and reshaped their defence plans. A new arms race has been triggered. If the West has forgotten the Kosovo War, Russian and China have not.
On the Day of Truth distinguished speakers explored the causes, methods, propaganda, legality and outcome of the war. We particularly focused on the media role (how truthful was the reporting?) & considered William Walker's obscure function.
We asked how the UK so capriciously got itself into war to support German foreign policy aims, and an open ended hideously expensive neo-colonialist military commitment, + how a new NATO framework was agreed, all without public debate.
We considered what MPs & we, the ordinary people should do to respond both to the needs of Yugoslavia and Europe & in empowering a peace movement.
Our
concern is - following the NATO war can the integrity of treaties
and respect for international law ever be restored?

Many of them were blown up within days of NATO entering the
province, or within hours of British troops being withdrawn from
protecting these world heritage sites on orders from the MOD. In
purely world cultural terms the catastrophe which has overtaken
this once 'holy land of Kosovo' is breathtaking; medieval and
pricelessly valuable works of art smashed up, the land
irradiated, largely emptied of its indigenous inhabitants. Of
those who have not fled, many have died, (after first
suffering revolting tortures at the hands of the KLA), while of
those who still remain, from the Serb and Roma people, they live
in fear. Land mines laid by NATO (unexploded cluster bombs
scattered by its aircraft) continue to kill and maim
indiscriminately. The Ottoman occupation coverted churches into
mosques and covered up the frescos. With the independence of the
Christian states these churches were reconsecrated and the
frescos uncovered, sometimes in pristine condition as at
their first creation. But the NATO occupation is a miserable
affair: nothing now is left to restore. As well as a people,
their habitat, a history and collective memory, an entire
epoch in time, has been extinguished. "This
is genocide - in the truest, deepest and most meaningful sense of
the word - admittedly not on as large a scale as Rwanda, or the
Holocaust, but a genocide in which we the British people are
